Scholarship Information
The Kansas NAHRO Dru Thomas Scholarship Program provides scholarship opportunities to families that reside in, work with, or who otherwise receive housing benefits from one of the member agencies of Kansas NAHRO. 
Qualifications:

The applicant and their family must reside in a dwelling that receives section 8 benefits or, in a public housing unit or that has received rehabilitation assistance during the past twelve months. The agency providing the assistance must be a member in good standing with Kansas NAHRO.

The applicant must have maintained an overall 2.8 GPA for the total of their high school career. Head of household and previous winners that are in college must have an overall GPA of 2.6.

A high school applicant must commit themselves to enrolling in a college/university or vocational training program beyond high school graduation. Head of household must have a minimum of 24 college credit hours.

Scholarship Categories:

Category 1- Academic Scholarship:
This is a $500.00 one-year scholarship available for students with a 3.6 or higher GPA on a 4.0 scale their entire high school or college career.

​​Category 2- Outstanding Achievement Scholarship:
One $300.00 one-year scholarships available for students with a 2.8 or higher GPA on a 4.0 scale their entire high school career or a 2.6 GPA for Head of Household with a minimum of 24 college credit hours and previous scholarship winners.

​​Category 3- Child of Staff Scholarship:
One $300 one-year scholarship is available to a graduating senior of an agency staff family with a 3.6 or higher GPA on a 4.0 scale their entire high school or college career.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Applications must include the following additional materials:

All available and most recent high school transcript (including current grades).

ACT/SAT test scores.

Two letters of recommendation from community leaders or teachers.

An essay on why applicant wishes to pursue a college degree or vocational training (500 words or less).

Agency certification completed and signed by ED/Administrator

College students must submit college transcript including current grades.

Before starting the online application you will need to download the agency certification form. Please have the Executive Director/CEO of the agency fill out this form. There is a place on the online application for you to attach the completed form.
